Let's talk about Facial Scrubs, why you need them, and how they can help your skin maintain that youthful luster.
You’ve likely heard all about the wonders of exfoliation. But why are scrubs so important for your skincare routine? What do they do, and how do they benefit your skin?
You cleanse and moisturize, but still you’re not seeing the results you want. Whether you’re looking to minimize fine lines through moisturization, are worried about problem areas, or you want to brighten your complexion, exfoliating facial scrubs can help give your face the healthy and revitalizing look you need.
What Are Facial Scrubs?
Facial scrubs are more than just your everyday cleanser. They help buff your skin free of accumulated debris, oil, and dead skin cells towards a radiant and clear complexion. Scrubs often include small particles like jojoba beads, pumice, charcoal, or other small components. These work as tiny exfoliants to gently scrub away the gunk that gathers on your face throughout the week.
Facial scrubs should generally be used two to three times per week, depending on the scrub and your skin type. Because of their harsher texture, using an exfoliator every day can damage your skin by stripping it of its natural protective barrier.
We like to use a facial scrub at the beginning and end of our week. At the beginning of the week, it’s a pampering, spa-like massage that relaxes you and gets you ready to take on the world. On the weekend, a scrub is a way to revitalize your tired skin after a long and productive week. Plus, then you’re ready to enjoy your weekend plans with a fresh, youthful, glowing face!
Note: Many exfoliators have microbeads, which are used to harshly remove the top layers of skin cells. We never like using a product with microbeads. Not only can these beads reportedly cause micro-tears in the skin, but they are also known to be bad for the environment. After use, they are disposed into bodies of water, where they can harm aquatic animals and, in turn, damage our food supply and ecosystem. There are tons of other natural exfoliants that won’t harm your skin or the environment.
What Are The Benefits of Facial Scrubs?
Exfoliating with natural, healthy facial scrubs is one of the best ways you can treat your gorgeous skin.
- Fresher, smoother looking skin
Exfoliators can help buff away the oil, dead skin, and other environmental pollutants that can rest in the lines and crevices in your face. Scrubbing away debris can help your skin's natural state be seen more clearly, and wrinkles can appear shallower and less pronounced.
- Cleanse and Prevent
Even if you cleanse your skin twice per day, oil and dead skin can still rest on the top layers of your skin. This can clog your pores and cause whiteheads and blackheads. Exfoliating two or three times a week removes this dirt out of your pores at a deeper level than traditional cleansers.
- 3. Brighten complexion
Less oil, debris, and dead skin cells can naturally lead to brighter, more youthful looking skin. Furthermore, many exfoliators contain lightening and moisturizing properties. Hydrated, clean skin is happy, gorgeous skin!
4. Relax
We love exfoliation because it is a great time to relax and focus on skincare. It gives you a meditative massage, where you can concentrate on your self-care. It’s the best time to unwind, enjoy the aroma of the scrub, and clear your mind (while also cleaning your face).
Our Regimen
We always use more natural exfoliators. We feel that a harsh, chemical-ridden scrub is just unnecessary, and your face deserves better.
Our green and white tea exfoliating facial scrub is filled with all of Mother Earth’s favorite exfoliators. The ingredients are chock full of antioxidants, and the jojoba beads are guaranteed to awaken and clear your pores. It also has olive butter and avocado butter, which help to restore moisture after exfoliation. Plus, the coffee extract further excites, awakens, and brightens your skin.
While you’re waiting for this product to come to your doorstop after ordering, you can try sugar as an exfoliator! It’s a great source of glycolic acid, which can help soften skin texture. Mix sugar with olive oil to create a thick paste that will instantly reveal a fresh, beautfiful layer of skin.
Our exfoliating facial scrub is one of my personal favorites that we carry. Try yours today!
