Niacinamide And Your Skin

Hello,

This is Martha Thomas, head of customer care for Tree of Life Beauty, and I want to welcome you to our weekly newsletter where we discuss important ways to age gracefully, “how-tos” for keeping skin healthy as you age, and so much more about your skincare regimen.

Please be advised that we are not doctors or dermatologists, and this article should not be taken as medical advice or any medical statement. Any questions or issues involving your skin-care needs should be discussed with a physician, and we highly recommend you consult with your doctor before taking up any skin-care regimen.

Niacinamide has been growing in popularity, but what is it, and why is it becoming a growing trend in the beauty industry?

What is Niacinamide?

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. B vitamins help your body convert carbohydrates into glucose, meaning they transform your food into energy. B3 can be found naturally throughout the food chart, in meat, fish, milk, eggs, vegetables, beans, and grains.

Because vitamin B3 keeps your immune system healthy, it’s a crucial part of the protective layers of your skin. The top layers of your epidermis are meant to keep out environmental pollutants and other toxic particles from entering your body.

But as we age, our skin’s top layers start to break down. When this happens, the protection from external contaminants also breaks down.

Niacinamide steps in to save the day. Products that contain niacinamide help replenish your skin with the necessary B3 vitamin.

What Are The Benefits of Niacinamide?

Niacinamide can help to minimize hyperpigmentation. This protective barrier also strengthens skin and prevents water loss or dehydration.

Niacinamide also regulates your skin’s oil production. Oil is your body’s way of creating a natural shield. If the protective layers of your skin are strong, your body doesn’t need to produce as much oil. This is why your skin gets oilier when you use harsh or irritating products; the intense ingredients strip away your skin’s biological protection, so your body has to overcompensate by producing even more oil. Niacinamide keeps the barrier intact and thus keeps oil production at a balanced level.

Our ultimate age-defying serums have niacinamide along with vitamin C and astaxanthin to create a perfect blend for a naturally youthful glow!

How Do You Use Niacinamide?

Niacinamide has been shown to protect against toxins and pollutants. However, it’s important not to start consuming B3 vitamins without first consulting with a doctor.

Topically, niacinamide is usually found in serums, since niacinamide is a potent vitamin that is most effective when delivered directly into pores.

Try the Tree of Life niacinamide serum with hyaluronic acid to see all the benefits for yourself. Protect your skin for a flawless, long-lasting appearance!
